Air America
Air America is the nation’s leading progressive radio network. The shows are broadcast live online, as well as on over 60 affiliate stations and Sirius XM Satellite Radio. Since 2005, Advomatic has built and regularly improved Air America's online home to meet the changing needs of a growing media company.
Challenges & Needs
Before Advomatic came in to help, Air America's website crashed several times every day. A carousel of web companies had let them down and left Air America simultaneously running 7 different content management systems on 3 unstable servers. The challenge was impressive: 15 shows, each with their own blogs, mailing lists, media, live audio streams, schedules, station listings, guest lists, and booking information.
Solution
We built a custom multi-site universal login system in which each show controls its own content. We successfully migrated existing content off of old legacy software platforms, including the transferal of the hundreds of thousands of users to the new system. Advomatic ended the daily crashes, slashed their hosting costs in half, installed a new ad serving system, and a customer support center. Advomatic enabled Air America to monetize their Internet presence and enhance the bond with their listeners.
In early 2008 we launched a massive upgrade to the site that included a complete upgrade to Drupal 5, a totally revamped show management system, a brand new premium media content service, and an integrated customer support system. Advomatic hosts Air America Radio on a dedicated cluster of managed servers and content delivery network.
