Progressive States Network
The Progressive States Network (PSN) provides strategic support for a network of state legislators, their staffs and advocacy groups, in order to equip them with logistical and strategic advocacy tools necessary for advancing key progressive policies.
Challenges & Needs
Sometimes projects don't go according to the original plan. When Progressive States Network needed a closer, they called on Advomatic to get them to get them out of a tight spot late in the game.
PSN's high-level requirements:
- Redesign and retheme the site
- Overhaul, simplify and complete legacy code to meet an extremely complex categorization schema (11 content types, 50 views, 56 modules, 16 panels, and a custom module with 2000 lines of code)
- Train PSN staff on Drupal
Solution
Advomatic's development team rolled up its sleeves and got to work:
- We worked with PSN on several intensive, collaborative calls to develop a roadmap for getting the project to completion
- We simplified the data structure, thus making content creation more streamlined
- We fixed bugs and suggested improvements to workflow
- We redesigned the site, presenting PSN with 3 exciting new design directions
- We converted final, approved designs to a custom Drupal theme
- We migrated legacy content into Drupal
- We trained PSN staff on Drupal
A little over two months later, PSN successfully launched - just in time to capitalize on a growing progressive ascendancy - knowing it had Advomatic in the bullpen, ready for the next call.
